My 100-haiku spiraling pilgrimage

Poetry is not for the faint hearted.

My next poetry folio is bulging from my soul in multiple shades of life. From lemons to train stations, epiphanies to stolen moments of untruths, it's the whole abstract world of reality that is owling with colorful morning calls.

75 to go ... Working title: 'Fudgings'.

Soon, we'll fly back to not-so-distant lands ...

Atol-protected

A sunny haven by the sea. Coffee slowly percolating. Old ballad humming. Sizzling bacon. An opened jam pot. A waspy newspaper. All good news. Waiting for extinction …

Sand-witch

Today, the sky is milky white. I wonder if there's a dark shot of espresso brewing behind those clouds. Tonight will be dark chocolate again; that's a certainty. My life is sandwiched between cream and sugar days under a Cappuccino spell.

Grounded

Shake feet. Make love to the ground. Rather than gathering dust on a rainy day, I'm wearing hand shoes made by industrious hands that make me feel like a bird. It's great to avoid puddles and creepy stones. I am sure if I perched on a branch no one would take flight.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNITED KINGDOM -  Very rarely does a new literary sleuth captures the imagination as Mac Closkey’s spiritual brand borne out his unswerving enthusiasm for the scriptures and the nature of evil. David Mar’s protagonist, Mac Closkey, is without doubt a scient criminologist.

A novel that combines an alluring hattrick of fiction, true crime and supernatural phenomena, Hollow Man stands head and shoulders above many works in the detective genre, due in part to the author’s eloquent writing, and progressive and well-constructed plot. However, it is Mar’s predilection for observation (which prompted a career in journalism) and desire to explore psychosocial issues and conspiracy theories that elevates Hollow Man from a good read to a gem of a thriller.

With readers revelling in the endeavours and foibles of this unlikeliest of crime solving heroes, Hollow Man not only deserves to top the literary best seller lists, but offers up a narrative that is begging for big screen adaptation.

Synopsis:

It seems the afterlife will not relinquish its grip on Mac Closkey, a schizophrenic candidate who becomes a vicar to escape the throes of his hallucinations. His alternative ministry calls him to investigate Victorian bodies discovered on the local mountain. Once hazed by the world of spirits, Mac Closkey emerges victorious to solve the legendary Jack the Ripper case. Soon his local chapter requires his help to shed light on the ex-commissioner’s role in his wife’s disappearance.

The author says:

“Working as journalist made me a staunch truth-seeker and a keen disambiguator. Just like my character, Mac Closkey, I will spend my darkest hours getting to bottom of conspiracies to explore a new concept: legal criminality. If you want to know about the concept, read ‘Hollow Man’.”

Published on 28th April 2023 by Austin Macauley Publishers, Hollow Man is available in paperback (ISBN No: 9781528953863) priced £8.99 on Amazon, Goodreads, WHSmith, etc.
